We have already written about thatthat another film adaptation about life is being prepared Bruce Lee entitled "Birth of the Dragon"(Birth of the Dragon). So, the project is already at the filming stage. The main plot of the upcoming film will be not only the notorious “origin” of the legendary master and actor, but also his semi-mythical battle with the master Wong Jack-Man

Birth

Bruce Lee in the film plays rising star of Chinese action cinema Philip Ng (“Zombie Fight Club”, “Teacher vs. Vampire”), which already showed a good reference to Bruce in the film “Once upon a time in Shanghai"(2014). The film's cast also includes Xia Yu ("Dragon Squad") Billy Magnusen, Qu Jingjing ("The Great Magician") Ron Yuan ("Blood and Bones") and Kinga Lau ("Kick-Ass 2"). Notorious Corey Yuen handles the fight choreography for the film.

A Canadian is in the director's chair George Nolfi (“Changing Reality”), writing the script Christopher Wilkinson (“Ali”) and Stephen Jay Revier (“Nixon”).

Photos from the set show that the film's artists and designers do a good job of recreating San Francisco in 1960, using numerous period details.

Birth of the Dragon

«Birth of the Dragon"is planned for theatrical release in early 2017.

Let us recall that Hollywood has already attempted to film the life story of Bruce Lee in the 1993 feature film “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story", where the main role was played by the then unknown Jason Scott Lee. Then the film failed at the box office, although it gained some popularity already at the stage of distribution of videotapes.

''No retreat, no surrender'' was not bad in terms of fighting. And ''Bruce'' was there. Corey needs to go back to his roots.

      jean,

If you need to return to your roots, then take Sammo Hungg! He worked with Bruce like no one else and can put together an action sequence for him better than anyone else.

I join in the worries about the choreography. IMHO, after the first Carrier, Corey was a mess

I'm worried about the choreography. Bruce's fighting games are always minimalistic and realistic, and old Corey is very fond of flying techniques and fantastic somersaults...
