Two police officers are tasked with protecting an important witness in the case of the influential gangster Tung. On the way, their convoy is attacked by mercenaries on a tip from the big boss. The partners manage to fight off the attackers, and, having killed one of the fighters, they earn themselves a blood enemy in the person of a sadistic killer. By the way, Tung did not accept defeat, and, of course, will use any tricks to destroy the witness.

Sometimes we become victims of cognitive distortions. You watch the films of some director, fly into space with the confusion happening on the screen, and come to the conclusion that the person is mediocrity, what can we take from him. For some reason, we start from the assumption that the creator always makes a product to the limit of its potential. But in vain. Take at least Godfrey Ho, who would have been given the nickname “notorious” if anyone cared about him. Throughout the 80s, I was filming some kind of nonsense, either about robots, or about ninjas, or about cyberkaratekas. Did he like the process itself? Probably yes. Did he consider his creations to be good cinema? Most likely no. It's probably a matter of pragmatism. Am I renting illicit assets? Yes, but this vein makes money. The seller of unleavened ice cream is not ashamed of the sour expressions of deceived children. He riveted and riveted a terrible bizet, and at the end of the decade disco rrraz - and produced this crème brulée.

How forced and false the performances were in his iron-rag films, so alive and charming are each of the characters. "Under police protection". Michiko Nishiwaki she played such a luxurious nymphomaniac that you want to take possession of the devil and shake off the infection. Bravo! One of the best images of a femme fatale in cinema, if not the best. Liu Kai Chi in the guise of jolly Roger - great. He was humiliatingly taken hostage, then he was rescued in an equally humiliating way, immediately in his heroine’s face he lets out “What a woman!”, and on the same day invites her on a date - this guy is radically cool. Yu Hua – this is exactly the case when the actor played not just a role, but a whole cliche “big man”. Confident, cruel, domineering bastard. This guy will not save at gunpoint; for him to be known as a slug of death is like death.

Moon Lee и Sharon Yoon – a separate conversation. When you hear the phrase “a strong and independent woman,” the first thing I do is clear my throat, and then I recommend that those who like to engage in feminism in the morning and reconsider "Atomic Blonde" watch any action movie with Moon Lee. This baby will always fight back against opponents one and a half times her weight, she will never snot, burying herself in a man’s shoulder, but! - at the same time, she does not for a moment lose the feminine charm of a sweet lady, which no Lancelot can resist. Sharon, of course, is a little callous, but still she is not devoid of either a natural need for male attention or the ability to cry. This is a duet of beautiful women, not only physically, but also spiritually.

The action is represented by fights and shootings. The fights let us down, which is not surprising; two workers were involved in the choreography: one is a debutant, and the second is involved in action films of turtle flight like "Remove the fourth" и "Rebellious". The actors are obviously hitting the blocks, and the movements are so simple that stunt doubles wouldn't be needed even if they were filming here. Cynthia Rothrock. But the shootings here are of the highest quality. Long jumps, well-timed slowmo, Macedonian gunfire, tasty wounds – jonvuvshchina in its purest form, a distilled thrill.

Sometimes it’s even a shame that some films have gone unnoticed. This one, for example, has never even heard of it. Thanks for the article, I’ll definitely take a look now
