While many fans and sympathizers are waiting full-length remake "Power Rangers", which will be released on the wide screen in 2017, the old guard of the original Rangers is not sleeping and... is preparing their own project!
Thank God, this project has nothing to do with the legendary tokusatsu series. The film for which the old rangers gathered in 2016 is called "Order" (The Order). The filming of the film became possible thanks to crowdfunding, which is still possible at the moment. support with a pretty penny.
It is worth giving credit to the filmmakers - they provided a very “telling” promotional trailer for the future film in the early stages, which fully demonstrates the film’s cast. Such projects, brought to completion, are a rarity rather than a frequent occurrence. However, there is no doubt that “The Order” will eventually be released, since the project is on a crowdfunding service Indiegogo supported by many classic fans Power Rangers, as well as other projects of the director and ideological inspirer of many series about Rangers Koichi Sakamoto, where the stars of the original series appeared: "Drive" (2002) "Extreme Heist" (2002) and "Interrupted Path" (2008)
There is already an official synopsis for the future action movie: a secret squad of mercenaries called the Order works in the shadow of such structures as the FBI and CIA. The men and women of this unit have been training since childhood, becoming real living weapons. They eliminate deadly threats and imminent disasters, keeping humanity safe and maintaining world order. But the Order was faced with the most dangerous of enemies: with the same living weapons as themselves - former members of the squad.
In the director's chair of such an interesting project sits David Wald, which was previously noted for its action-horror "Those Who Descended to Hell" starring Ray Park. Well, in the acting ensemble there is a whole galaxy of familiar faces from different incarnations "Power Rangers", including the original series: "Red Ranger" Austin St. John, "Black Ranger" Walter Jones, "Yellow Ranger" Karan Ashley, as well as other actors from the popular series David Yost, Johnny Yong Bosch, Daniel Southworth, Youssi Sudarso and others. In addition to the actors, many of the original Rangers' creators are behind the camera. The action in the film is handled by director David Wald himself, who knows firsthand about hand-to-hand combat, because he was one of the stuntmen on the set of the original series, in addition, Wald is part of the stunt team Alpha Stunts.
The trailer shows that the upcoming film has potential. At least the fans have already given the film its own title - "Power Rangers: Civil War".
We will wait for the details.
About the next independent film called "Butterfly Defense" we already wrote. This is, no less, the action star's own project from the 90s Michael Worth, who wrote the script and directed the film.
Butterfly Defense is a sports drama about two MMA fighters who are about to meet in the most important match of their lives. If you believe the description, the film will be more of a road movie than an MMA fighting game.
In addition to Michael Worth himself, the film stars: Scotty Epstein ("No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Storm Warning"), Tim Thomerson ("Season of Darkness") Francesca Agramonte (TV series "Grimm") Justin McCulley (“Code of Honor”) and Ivan Sergey ("Fatal Instinct") It was previously reported that the film should appear Matthias Hughes (“Angel of Darkness”), but he was still not included in the final cast.
The second teaser of the upcoming film has appeared online. And if the first one was focused on the hero Michael Worth, then the new promotional material talks about the character Scotty Epstein.
The film's release date is still unknown.
The following independent film relates to the theme of our site primarily after the name of the person who is actively promoting this project. This person is well known to us Cynthia Rothrock, which found itself in the niche of low-budget films made with money that everyone provides through crowdfunding services. Rothrock has already pulled out two projects this way: "Battle Baby" и "White Tiger". Two more are in the fundraising stage: Bitchfight и "The Amazing Shanghai Dragons".
"An Asian Ghost Story" (Asian ghost story) is a project that was also born with funds raised under the watchful eye of Mrs. Rothrock. The genre of the film is a horror film with elements of hand-to-hand combat.
The plot of this ultra-low-budget film revolves around a dead Chinese railroad worker who seeks revenge in the form of a death-bringing ninja.
The film was directed by a famous trash movie maker David DeCoteau ("Curse of the Puppet Master") The film stars MMA fighters: Josh Van Meurs, Nicholas Simmons и Cassidy Alexa. It was promised that she herself would appear in this project. Cynthia Rothrock, but we (fortunately) didn’t see it in the trailer, nor did we see the action scenes that were promised to be shown in the film during the fundraising process.
'An Asian Ghost Story' Coming Exclusively to DVD on September 13 2016 year.

Not takusatsu, but tokusatsu.
Alex,
Oh, let's correct the typo now. Thank you.
