And have you noticed that the Chinese still like to show close-ups and rapid blows (with palms or fists), especially to the face? At 0:36 we were shown a cheek massage by Tony Jaa. Well, these are terrible shots, IMHO. Meaningless, ridiculous, visually ugly, breaking the dynamics, a la Bollywood. Or further - knee the enemy in the chin. Well, it’s clear that there shouldn’t be any damage there, that Tony doesn’t even really touch it with his knee.

        barsug,
And the main villain died from loss of pride.

Look how I see it. Cables, in and of themselves, are not bad. Simply: a) you need to know the measure b) you need to know the context.
Everything is simple about the measure: now they are filming in such a way that the characters will soon sit on the potty, being suspended on ropes.
Now about the context. So you watch, for example, Shakespeare and see how Mercuzzio dies under the blow of a fake cardboard sword, which passes under his armpit, bleeding red realistic blood. Do you know what I mean? At the same time, everything else - the setting, costumes, characters, dialogue and drama - is all real.
Another thing is that they show us, say, a parody of Shakespeare... or a conscious concept, conditional, schematic. Then you can look at it differently.
And if I watch some wuxia, then that’s one thing. And if I see a suffering, wounded policeman, Donnie Yen, who pretends to have real empathy, and then he got up and flew, and I see what places his cables are hooked to, and then removed on the computer... “they’re gone.”

One of the most anticipated films!!!!
Honestly, I don’t understand people who are stressed by cables! The best half of Chinese films are based on them.

PS There's a great movie coming up!)))

Maska411, it’s just that when tricks are done without cables, it seems that the tricks are being done live. And it looks cool. Not everyone can repeat this. But anyone can fly on ziplines. So no coolness. In addition, the cables are simply clearly visible and, accordingly, kill the impression of realism. Just look at the Bollywood fights, they say, why are people so prejudiced, the best half of Indian films are in this style.

Somehow it’s not so great. Damn the cables are still there.

    Thanks for the news.

I hope I won’t seem blasphemous to anyone, but if we discard the final battle from the first part of Donnie-Sammo, then the second series seems to be better and, apparently, much...

As you diplomatically wrote: “moments” with cables)) In my opinion, everything there consists of cables.

To be honest, I got the impression that these were the moments they wanted to show. Maybe the Chinese consider this something extremely worthy...

        barsug,

The Chinese have almost completely switched to them about 10 years ago.
