New projects by Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Dolph Lundgren and Eric Jacobas

Thai action movie star Tony JAA assigned to a project called "Silence" (Silent). For Jha, this role should be the first full-fledged leading role since the Thai hand-to-hand action film "Honor of the Dragon 2". Since Tony moved to Hollywood, he has performed either in a supporting role or opposite another action star.

"Silence" should be a joint US-Thai production project. The producers of the future action movie include: Mike Selby ("Slave Trade", "Triple Threat") and Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil franchise). The company is also financing the project Starlight Media Group.

In the new film, Jha will play a sullen food delivery man at a restaurant who hides a difficult, tragic past. However, the main character will remember his skills to confront a group of mercenaries and dishonest police officers.

More about "Silence" nothing is known. The project is at the pre-production stage and currently a candidate for the director's chair is being sought. The film will most likely be released no earlier than 2021. But for the next year, Jha has enough projects: this is a Hollywood film adaptation of a computer game "Monster Hungter", and a fantastic mid-budget picture "Jujutsu", and Tony's directorial work "Man will grow" starring Dolph Landgren.

In general, we just have to keep our finger on the pulse.

The legend of action films of the 80s and 90s does not sit without new projects Dolph Lundgren, who returned to the big screen last year with a small but prominent role in a Hollywood blockbuster "Aquaman" and the iconic role of Ivan Drago in the sports drama "Creed 2".

The new film is called "Wanted" (Wanted Man) and is being directed by Lundgren himself. In addition, he had a hand in the film's script, with which his friend and former action film actor helped him Michael Worth (“Knuckledusters”, “Contract”), as well as screenwriter Frank Valdez ("Missionary").

Synopsis: Travis Johansen (Lundgren) is a San Diego police sergeant who often hits the bottle due to a tragic past. His career is crumbling at the seams, and in order not to lose his job, Travis agrees to transport a prisoner to testify about the murder of two undercover police officers. Already in Mexico, it turns out that the prisoner is the prostitute Rosa, on whose head the local drug gangs have put a substantial sum on her head. Johansen needs to bring the witness to San Diego, risking his own life.

Nothing is known about who fills the rest of the caste. Also, the creators are not saying anything about the release date of the action movie. We only know that at the last Cannes Film Festival the project was acquired by a European company CineTel Films.

However, 61-year-old Dolph also has plenty of projects. For example, fans of the actor are waiting for a thriller "Following the Trail" (The Tracker), as well as an MMA drama "Hostility", which were promised to be released before the end of this year.

Indonesian hand-to-hand action star Iko Uwais (The Raid duology) seems to be seriously trying to gain a foothold in Hollywood. Since 2015, Iko has already starred in five American films, the last of which was a comedy "Stuber" (in Russian box office - "Ali, steer!"), where he played the main role Dave Batista. In addition, the first season of the Netflix series is due out at the end of this year. "U" is for killers, where Yuwais has a leading role.

But that's not all. At the 22nd Shanghai Film Festival it became known that the Indonesian will play the main role in the action film "Express to Chinatown" (Chinatown Express). The company is developing the film Hollywood Gang Productions, and the producers are listed Gianni Nunnari (“Shutter Island”, “300”), television producer Ricky Xiahan and himself Iko Uwais.

The script belongs to the pen Yaluna Tu (“U” means killers) and Zach Hines ("Resurrection of Evil"). They wrote the story of a young father who infiltrates the New York underworld to rescue his son, who was lost during a local gang war. Despite the allocated budgets, the project is still without a director and the rest of the cast. We are waiting for news.

Star of independent action films, stuntman and hand-to-hand action director Eric Jacobus (“Death Grip”, “The ABCs of Death 2”, “Sneaky”) will take part in the director’s new short film Ryan Polley ("High Tide", "I'll Be Back Again", "The Spy Who Loved Us") entitled "Pizza Time" (Pizza Time).

Like most of the short films in which Jacobas takes part, "Pizza Time" will be a comedy story about a very responsible pizza delivery man who witnesses the murder of a customer in his own home. Of course, the best pizzeria worker cannot allow a customer to die.

The main role in the film was played by the composer and actor Ben Worley (“Temp”, “Employee”), and the role of the hired killer went to Jacobus.

creators "Pizza Time" raised the money needed to complete the film's production through a crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, and organized a premiere at the recent Comic-Con.

Well, we just have to wait for the film to be released to the masses. As a rule, Jacobas always pleases his fans with high-quality action, for which, by the way, he is the one responsible.
