Nicholas Tse loves being a villain

In an interview for one of the magazines, Nicholas Tse spoke about his role as the villain in the film "Shaolin":

In Shaolin, I always followed the instructions of brother Andy Lau, he is my boss, but I want to kill him because I think he is too outdated, he is too hesitant, too conservative. In every era, in order to move up your career ladder, you will always have to remove any obstacles from your path. He is my boss, he always orders me around, so when will I become the boss myself? Therefore, I get rid of him, enlisting the support of my teacher Xion Xin Xin.

I am actually a very patriotic person, I think that Brother Andy Lau and all his arguments are too selfish, all the money goes into his pocket and he enjoys his own prosperity. He is not cut out for great things.

For example, there is an episode in which I convince him to buy firearms from Western traders, but he refuses on the pretext that they are selling us weapons so that they can build roads on our land, thereby encroaching on the lands of China. But my logic is that it doesn't matter if they occupy our lands, if we have firearms we can fight them back, so our thinking is radically different.

I believe that my actions should not be limited and constrained, let it be anything as long as it leads to victory over the enemy, then it will be the best style of martial arts. The set of movements invented for me will constrain me. I'm proficient in Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, as well as edged weapons, I might even use a concealed firearm since I'm a villain. I'll fight Xing Yu, fight Wu Jing, fight Andy Lau's brother, anyone I come across, I'd pick a fight.

I like being a villain, you can do whatever you want, sit in any position convenient for you. When you speak softly, you look thoughtful and cunning, when you raise your voice, you punish people. Plus a piercing murderous look.

It goes without saying that my character does not believe in the nature of Buddha. My theory is that if you like money, money is good, if you don't like pain, pain is bad. This is my character's personality. I don't have any relationships in the movie, just like the Joker in The Dark Knight, but his acting is amazing. I’m conferring with the director about this, trying to find a similar version of the game.

He stole a large sum of money from a gang of crooks, but for what purpose? To burn them. Why didn't he spend the money? It's simple - he liked to watch banknotes burn. How is this possible, you ask? But this type of people actually exists.
