The real cause of Darren Shahlavi's death is heart disease.

More than three months have already passed since Darren Shahlavi left this world. Many media outlets falsely reported that the cause of his death was drugs to which Darren’s body turned out to be intolerant, also on our website was published this, as it turned out, version (we will ignore the media that approached the topic too creatively and talked about drug or alcohol overdoses). Therefore, it would be wrong not to clarify the real cause of death...

Family Shahlavi recently received a coroner's report and issued a statement releasing the results of the investigation. I'll leave the main part of the statement:

Darren died on January 14, 2015 from natural causes: a sudden heart attack. He was diagnosed with atherosclerosis (also known as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, or CVD). His left anterior descending artery was 95% blocked, due to deterioration over several years.

No drugs or medications were found in Darren's body, and only 0,02 % ppm (blood alcohol content); put this in the context of 0,08% ppm being the driving limit in the US and UK. There are no other medical factors associated with his death.

It's a pity that he left! Blood Moon was amazing! Even now, after more than 17 years, I try to repeat in training the movements and techniques that he performed in that film!! He was a very memorable character!

He could show a good game and not just swing his legs.

You see what the trick is, right? We all remember his roles, not just the way he waved his legs. He put a lot of acting stuff into his work, and because of his charisma, appearance, energy, he was much more than just another movie fighter.

And I remember “Bloody Moon” with Gary Daniels, where Darren waved his legs great, and the staging of the fights seemed to be from Hong Kong!
Even in the web series "Mortal Kombat" the role of Kano suited him very well...

One of the best. One of my favorite fighting game actors. I always believed that he deserved more in cinema, he was much higher than the projects in which he participated.

I completely agree. And he acted too little, except for fans, no one knows his name. It's a pity.

Yes, indeed one of the best, it is impossible to forget him in the second Ip Man, he showed himself powerfully there, eclipsed everyone.

It's a pity for the guy, he was a good actor, he showed real acting in the best film by Olaf Ittenbach
''Beyond Time,, even in a horror film he was able to show his fighting skills.
