Fighter, actor and producer Phillip Rea (Phillip Rhee) started making his own film called "Underdogs" (~Outsiders/Underdogs). This project, according to him, is something between "Bad News Bears" и "The Karate Kid", this "Best of the Best", but only with children in the lead roles.
More detailed information is not yet available, although it is known that a number of on-screen fighters are involved in the production, whom many will recognize from action films of the 90s: Simon Rea, Richard Norton, James Lew, Don "Dragon" Wilson, Benny Urkides и Dan Inosanto.
Based on one of the set photos (below), it's possible that they will appear in the film as judges at a martial arts competition.
Five part interview

Exactly) The more you talk about plans, the less likely it is to be fulfilled.
Just like the saying “Do you want to make God laugh? Tell him about your plans for the future.” ;)
There is such a thing, and his latest projects are very, very large-budget.
This is just great news! Even if the idea is not the most successful, I am glad that the legends of combat cinema and martial arts, despite their age, are still devoted to their work. I'm especially glad to hear this news from Phillip Rea (he looks great in the photo, hasn't changed at all). After all, almost nothing has been heard from him over the past 15 years (after the release of his 4th part of the best of the best in 98), while his brother Simon immersed himself in films and stunt work.
And he does the right thing. It's a good habit.
I haven’t come across any articles asking about the fifth part, but in a recent interview for one of the taekwondo schools, when asked about future projects, he answered that he has one special film in the plans, which is very similar in theme to “The Best of the Best.” I think he just meant "Underdogs". As far as I understand, he is not a fan of talking about his plans for the future.
The first part, IMHO, is one of the best sports films. And the Ri brothers have the highest class technology.
He had a great series, The Best of the Best... I still don’t feel ashamed to rewatch it...
Do you know if a 5th part was ever planned? and does Ree himself say anything about her?
And in general, I would like them to star not with children as judges, but in full-fledged active roles. Even if it turns out naive and outdated, I will be glad to see Urquidez, Norton and Rea on the screen. This is much more interesting to me than the future third part of the “unstoppable cranberry”.
They are not filmed in China to talk about Chinese fashion.
Athletes of this level don’t push themselves that hard. So I think he's in shape. True, given the Chinese fashion for filming all sorts of pop singers in action films, now you don’t even have to be in uniform.
Guys, why isn’t Phillip filming himself? ((at least in the episode...
Are you really that out of shape?
It is possible that it will be removed. Although he did not make any comments on this matter, he provided only the bare minimum of information.
I don’t watch Spartak, but I did watch the episode with Norton. The role is bright, but the plot is crazy, it would be possible not to kill his character. I don't see any major meaning in this.
Chan Kong San =))
I meant one screen. a fighter who Benny fought several times.
My legs are not crooked, but my nose is not right anyway, I do boxing)))))
And the person will have a “potato nose and crooked legs”...
yes he is old already! what can he oppose to such a handsome guy like me?)))))
Elvin: "Good evening Benny, you're a freak."
Benny: “Nothing, now we’ll fix your face too.” Boom!
I would be happy to do so, but something tells me that this meeting will not take place))
Exactly.
I remember I was so hopeful that Ed Norton would star in our Nomad in 2003 when he was one of the supposed cast members. I love him in Mister Cool with Jackie.
Tell him about this in person))
Urquidez has completely turned into a freak))))))
Norton is generally very good. underrated I think.
Ravenside and this is from Spartak last season. By the way, the role is good, short but memorable.
I’ll add Norton to the offtopic:

I’m very glad to see such famous masters of their craft in the gathering =) If a film comes out where Inosanto and Norton play together, no matter what it is with or without martial arts, I will be in the first row to buy tickets! =)
He's had this face for a long time now, pay attention, look at the pictures, he has that characteristic swelling around his eyes and cheeks, like after Botox, when wrinkles and bags are removed. But he is such a guy, spectacular, dandy, it seems to me that this is in his repertoire.
Well, he is listed there as a stuntman and stunt coordinator, it is quite possible that there will be something episodic.
I wonder if they’ll let him fight there?..
Ravenside really has something wrong with his face, but he is still in shape, respect to him.
Lindolion, Norton are still in decent shape. By the way, I think he did plastic surgery or facial correction, like Botox, but I don’t know why.

Great! Thanks for the photo!
I didn’t recognize Norton at all :)
I was glad to see Danny, this is what Bruce would look like now, but it’s very difficult to imagine...
For some reason, the best always leave young.
He is 61 years old.
Even if the film is a mess or doesn’t come out at all, thanks for the photos alone.
But before there were times...:

How glad I am to see Tommy Lee), but I didn’t recognize Urquidez at first, how old is he already?
As for the news, I’m very glad, I would love to watch this film, I want a good film in the style of the first bests with competitions, albeit for children, but with such “big” personalities as these guys.
Thank you very much for the news.
Pfff!
The taste and color markers are different.
This is news, the legends have come together, the Dragon hasn't changed much, Norton looks great for being 63, Urquidez has aged a lot, I'll have to watch the movie when it comes out.
