2020 is inexorably approaching, the list of nominees in our project to sum up the results of combat films for 2019 is growing, and we have prepared for you several short combat films that we either waited for or really enjoyed watching.
Pizza Time
Let's start with a new short film by a talented film fighter, stuntman and hand-to-hand action director Eric Jacobusa (“Death Grip”, “The ABCs of Death 2”, web series “Mario War” and “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”). He took part in the film "Pizza Time" (Pizza Time) directed by Ryan Polley ("The Spy Who Loved Us").
Мы already wrote about this project in which Eric played a hitman who stood in the way of the best pizza delivery guy just when the latter was delivering an Italian dish to a client.
The main role in the film was played by the actor Ben Worley (“Pace,” “Employee”), who also composed the soundtrack for this short film. Well, we are always waiting for new films with Eric, so you are welcome.
Ip Man - The Intercepting Fist
Creative association of stuntmen MartialClub, whose activities we we are constantly monitoring, released a new short film in which the team members confess their warm feelings for the entire franchise about the life of an already legendary teacher Bruce Lee - master Ip Mane.
On the verge of the release of the fourth film, the guys made a 15-minute film about Ip Man confronting several kung fu practitioners at the same time.
Master Yip, who masters not only the Wing Chun technique, was played by Andy Le, who directed the film. He was kept company by: Daniel Ma, Brian Le, D.Wai Sau, Wu Huang, Andrew Lim и David Dun.
As usual with short films from MartialClub, do not rush to turn off the video after the ending - credits with unsuccessful takes await you.
Cleaning House
New film by stuntman and director Shahauba Rudbari and dancers Marisa Labog we've been waiting since the summer, when the creators announced the filming of a new short film. Rudbari made his mark with some very interesting short films "When kids grow up" и "Dancing with Scars".
Shahoub's new film is called "Cleaning House" and tells the story of two hapless robbers who are forced to confront the security of the building in which they are scheduled to do business. In addition to Shahoub and Marisa, who played the main roles, the following took part in the short films: Ryan Gray, Anthony O, Dustin Stern-Garcia, Yavuz Topuz, Amy Stardivan and others.
RUSH
A new film from a stuntman, screenwriter and director Adama Brashaw (TV series "Ghosts") is called "Rush" and will tell the story of a policeman who was kidnapped by cold-blooded killers in order to carry out their revenge.
Unfortunately, Brashaw's universe project didn't work out. "Matrix", about which we once wrote, but Adam released a very good short film with good action.
In addition to Brashaw himself, who played the main role, his film starred: Michael Wilson, Chase Hermitage, Chris Lodge and others.
We offer the film for viewing. It's really good and has won a ton of awards at short film festivals.
My Hero Academia - UA: LA
It's been a while since the stunt team Thousand Pounds did not please us with her projects. However, this year fans of the team’s work received a full 15 minutes of hand-to-hand combat from the guys who filmed a spin-off to the famous Japanese comic book and animated series "My Hero Academia".
Wrote the script, staged the fight choreography and the film itself Christopher Clark Cowan, and helped him with this Guy DaSilva (“Tricking: Freedom of Movement”, “On the Ropes”), who also played the main role.
The rest of the caste includes: Hleo Thomas ("Hurricane Season") Nathan People ("Runaways"), Mark Misione (TV series "Westworld") and Jay Kwon ("Made in Chinatown").
The guys released a short film in three episodes, later combining them into one. We present this film for your consideration.
"DEKU" in Real Life
Your version of paraphrase "My Hero Academia" filmed by freerunner and stuntman Omar Zaki.
In the five-minute sketch, the character Deku works out intensely in order to better control his ability.
There are no combat scenes in the sketch, but there is a video of the main character’s various training sessions. We weren’t looking forward to this video as much as the ones mentioned above, but since this happened with the anime adaptation, let there be something like this in our selection today.

To be honest, there is no particular principle... when there is more time, an “old man” is added, when there is less time...
Not a bad idea. But I don’t understand something, on what basis are profiles added? And legends...
Ryan Gosling is handsome!
I am waiting. I hope there will be something exciting.
