The time of quarantine and pandemic is, unfortunately, not the time for large projects. Most film releases have been postponed until the summer, and post-production on smaller-budget films has stalled due to self-isolation. In this regard, independent filmmakers became more active and urgently decided to “finish” their projects. We will show you some of them today.
Escape From North Korea
In 2017, special effects master, editor and director Keith Eng запустил on crowdfunding platforms raising funds for a fantastic short film called "Escape from North Korea". The project was promised in the style of films of the 80s and took as a basis such cult films as Escape from New York (1981) "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) "Game of Death" (1976) and short film "Kung Fury" (2015)
Finally, the film was released into the public domain. Let us remind you that "Escape from North Korea" is a comedy fantasy action movie, the main character of which is the last American ninja, forced to rescue the daughter of the US President from captivity in New North Korea in the setting of an alternative 80s.

Another movie called "Daemon", which tells about the demons of Japanese mythology, was directed by Anthony Pietromonaco, familiar to us from the short film "Dark Legacy" from the universe "Star Wars".
The film is about a young Japanese man who is interested in where oni demons came from. And one day one of them appears for the soul of the main character himself.
We had a good fight with katanas Toru Uchikado и Masashi Odate.
The Matrix: Reborn
He performed a 50-minute performance on YouTube Dominic Barrett with a creative pseudonym King Vader. Previously, he and his team filmed mainly fight sketches based on famous Japanese series, but Barrett's new work touches on the universe "Matrices".

Barrett himself played the main role in the film. The rest of the caste includes: DJ Rivers, Kirstal Reed, Jessica Vanessa, Brian Hobbs and others.

Escape from North Korea is a clear stylization of old computer fighting games. To be honest, I somehow finished watching it, and by the 10th minute I was already bored. Some kind of computer flickering, but martial arts is essentially zero.
Escape from North Korea is in the best traditions of Kung Fury.
The home-made Matrix is too home-made for a normal film and lacks something for a parody.
City Breach is a fun stylization.
Extermination is not bad choreography. We tried to figure it out.
The rest you don't have to watch at all.
