Conan Stevens saved a girl's life

One night I went to a bar with my Australian girlfriend to buy a couple of beers. We were about to leave when we suddenly heard some excitement among the staff.

One of the guys looked at me in despair and asked for help...

I jumped over the bar and saw a girl who was having difficulty breathing. One of the 45-pound guys tried to give her the Heimlich maneuver. I grabbed the poor girl and began to do this technique myself, but so as not to break her ribs (I advise you to read about it in case it comes in handy someday)...

After several unsuccessful attempts, the girl did not begin to breathe normally. Then my smart friend started honking her car horn.

I picked the girl up, jumped over the counter and ran to the car, putting her inside. Taking a quick glance at the hysterical friends of the injured girl, I turned to my friend and said: “I’d better go, it seems none of them know anything about first aid.” I jumped into the salon from the other side, placing the girl so that I could see her face.

We drove to the hospital, which luckily was only a 5-10 minute drive from the bar. But either because of the adrenaline, or because of the three crying and hysterically screaming girls, the journey seemed too long.

I kept calling the girl by name and asking her not to die - in English and Thai.

And then she stopped breathing.

Her eyes rolled back and then closed.

If her friends were hysterical before, now they went crazy with panic, seeing how their friend was dying before their eyes.

I have seen people die more than once and under various circumstances, but for the first time I had to hold in my arms the person who died in front of me.

Without hesitation, I gave her three chest compressions and a big breath, doing the CPR I was taught in grade school, high school, surf training, and the military.

Noticing that a clot of mucus had come out of her throat, I stopped doing cardiac massage and gave her two more big breaths... she started breathing again and opened her eyes.

Having calmed her friends, I continued to call her by name and asked her not to die. We finally arrived at the hospital...

She stopped breathing again...

I quickly began performing artificial respiration and before we stopped (or rather, flew into a ditch and got stuck), I noticed how she took one breath on her own. We ran to the hospital, I opened the door and carried her into the emergency room.

About 15 minutes passed, the doctor on duty came out and showed with an approving gesture that everything was in order. Then I left.

A few days later I spoke with the bar manager. He said that two days later the girl returned to work. Everything was fine with her, and she asked me to say thank you.

I will try to visit her in the near future and find out what the problem was.

So I didn't get home until 7 am.

I rarely go to bars at night (or during the day), but I'm very glad that I ended up there then, otherwise things could have been much more complicated...

Here you go. A terrible story, Conan is great, many people who in theory know perfectly how to give first aid panic and cannot do anything sensible. There are happy coincidences. The girl was very lucky.
