I would like to know about the reaction of the audience to the “Raid 2” released today. Can you tell us what's so interesting about the film?
Iko Uwais: For me personally, it's the story, complex dramatic scenes and fights.
What was the hardest stunt in Raid 2?
Iko Uwais: Jumping from car to car in the chase scene. The filming took 6-7 takes, and I didn’t have doubles; I did all my stunts myself.
What's your favorite fight in Raid 2?
Iko Uwais: I think the final fight, the fight with the killer in the kitchen.
Did anything funny happen on the set of The Raid 2?
Iko Uwais: The nudity scene when I had to undress in front of the head of the syndicate. I'm not used to standing naked in front of other men!
You are currently the biggest star in Indonesia. How does it feel?
Iko Uwais: Thank you very much, Raj. Well, to be honest, everything is the same as always, nothing much has changed, except that now I have a small family: a wife and a daughter named Attria, she is already six months old. Life is still the same. It's strange that people want to take pictures with me, unusual, but at least now I understand who I have become! (laughs)
Do you have any favorite on-screen fighters?
Iko Uwais: Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Mark Dacascos (I love his capoeira movie “Only the Strong”), Tony Jaa, he is very good at gymnastics, acrobatics and of course Muay Thai.
Did you also do gymnastics and acrobatics?
Iko Yuvays: I can handle somersaults and somersaults, but these “dances” are rare for me! (laughs). I like silat, capoeira and gymnastics. Tai Chi is similar to silat in many ways and there is a lot of flexibility in the movements.

Iko Uwais: With Jackie Chan. I like that all his fights look realistic, his movements are believable, and he does his own stunts.
What does your daily workout consist of?
Iko Uwais: When I wake up in the morning, I do push-ups, etc., and also practice choreography techniques. Depending on my schedule, I can devote 3-5 hours a day to silat. I train with Yayan (Rukhiyan), he spurs me on so much that it doesn’t seem like much. I still call him “Mad Dog” or “Crazy Dog”!
I hope he doesn't mind! (laughs) By the way, what is your diet?
Iko Uwais: Nothing special, I eat everything! Fried chicken, rice, fruits and vegetables. I drink hot tea every morning.
Do you have any favorite pastime?
Iko Uwais: I like to practice choreography with Yayan, it’s what I like.
What books do you like to read?
Iko Uwais: I hate books! Joke. I just prefer watching movies!
Favorite music?
Iko Uwais: I like Arabic music performed by the Egyptian singer Amr Diab. Google it, and you won’t even notice how you yourself will start dancing to the music! (laughs)
