For fans of the game series"Assassin's Creed“there is news: firstly, if you didn’t know, work has been going on since the summer on a film adaptation of this game (our group has already published the first promotional photo with Michael Fassbender); secondly, the first photos from the set of the film of the same name have already leaked online.
First, a little information about the storyline. Michael Fassbender will play a character named Callum Lynch, who, as is usual according to the canons of the game, having examined his genetic memory, finds out that he is a descendant of a secret society of assassins. Having studied the adventures of one of his ancestors, the main character fulfills the dream of many gamers - armed with the unique knowledge and skills of assassins, he sets out to confront the Templars in the present time.
The director of the film, which in the Russian segment will be called "Assassin's Creed" is Justin Kurzel (Macbeth). And starring in it, in addition to Fassbender (who is also the film’s producer), Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kenneth Williams, and others...

I’ve never played this game and I don’t really know what’s what, so I’m completely biased, but after watching all sorts of videos, game trailers, clips and photos, it seemed that this character needed someone more subtle, sharp and predatory than Adkins (one might even say more graceful) and someone less aesthetically pleasing and flashy than Roshan. There may be someone without a clearly defined national characteristic. Roshan distracts with his appearance, Adkins with his simplicity.

I treat Fassbender exactly what is needed - he will play, but no more, no less.
And based on the pictures of the character... I don’t know, you need someone with a face a la David Beckham or like Jude Law, but with more masculine (in the public and socially approved understanding) facial features, more rigid. Or, for example, something like the late Andy Whitfield.
Fassbender fits well into this concept. True, I would find someone younger.
Adkins, Roshan... this project requires an actor, not a master of acting. Fassbender is perfect for the role. And the rest will be done by stuntmen and special effects.
PS. Glisson in keras and with a sword in the photo is amazingly good! (if it's him, of course)

If you watch Roshan's work, especially Fiza, Guzaarish, Jodha Akbar, Koi Mil Gaya... you will see his potential as an actor. Who is first and foremost an actor, and only then...over time, everything else. Fasbender "rests" with Hrithik's competition.
PS Why watch a film with an emphasis on martial arts and parkour, where everything is done by a stuntman? But apparently this has become a trend in cinema now. Even Jackie doesn’t really strain himself, slowly forgetting with his protégés the fact why we all loved him and love him in our films. It's a pity.

Alas, for the producers of the film, the fact of WHO will play the main role is also important. The general audience, for whom such films are primarily made, will be guided by the name of Fassbender. His name on the poster gives at least some guarantee that not only fans of the original game or BI with parkour will go to see the film. And to be honest, Fassbender is an excellent actor and there are no failed roles in his filmography yet. I hope this one won't be like that either.

There is definitely truth in your words! Agree. The trouble is that the producers, confused in the viewer’s opinion, themselves begin to lose touch in their actions. After all, no one asked the audience’s opinion before the release - DRUNKEN MASTER, POLICE ACADEMY, CYBORG KILLER, THE MATRIX, REVENGE AND THE LAW, BACK TO THE FUTURE, Russian TV series BRIGADE, ONG BAK.....you can list a lot.
Producers began to forget that they needed to bake a delicious pie, and perhaps even with a previously unknown filling. But definitely delicious. Nowadays, in most cases, pies are baked solely with the goal of pleasing. I call this unprofessionalism. This is largely the reason for the chaos in cinema, with the fashion for remakes and remixes.
This role would be PERFECTLY played by...RITHIK ROSHAN! An actor with remarkable charisma, a textured athletic physique and film acting skills. In terms of the content and style of this character, he fits 100%.
And this is a fact!
No one could play this role better than Adkins (he even looks a lot like the actor from the original game). Assassin is, first of all, a game about a cool ninja - a parkour athlete with a sophisticated fighting style, which Scott, given his skills, would be able to transfer it all to the screen realistically and spectacularly. And Fassbender, playing such a character, will not show anything good (only if the acting is in the dialogues, but in such a film the combat action should come first), since he is no movie fighter, we will see cables and computer graphics with torn close-ups. It’s a pity that the stupid producers don’t understand this and in general, for a proper, spectacular, beautiful film adaptation of such a game (about historical time) you need at least a budget of $150 million no less!!!
