Streaming giant iQiyi has become a haven for Chinese martial arts stars of late. Either Andy He, Xie Miao, Tiger Xu or Tiger Chen, filming mid-budget films for this streaming service between major projects is becoming a trend. The sheer amount of content from iQiyi leads to mixed results, but every now and then they release some real gems.
And now we come to this story. Yesterday Philip Ng announced via his Instagram page that he is working on a new film for iQiyi called "Armored” , which can be translated as "Armored" (tentatively). It will also star the legendary Yuen Biao, who in recent years has not really lit up the star pedestal, starring in little-known films going straight to streaming. With Ng in the lead role, this film certainly has potential. But that is not all. Also joining the cast is an underrated martial artist Wu Yue, who has also been immersed in streaming services since failing to achieve true stardom with films like "Paradox” (2017) and magnificent "On the verge of” (2017). Despite this, as a movie fighter he is quite good, otherwise he would not have been put as an antagonist to such masters as Donnie Yen, Max Zhang и Vincent Zhao.
About the film "Armored” little is known other than the main cast and the fact that it will be directed by a first-timer Huo Suiqiang, who worked on "Blind war” , which received very high ratings on iQiyi.
The game is cool. I hope the series will be no worse.
Thanks for posting. Hopefully more comments soon.
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm crazy about Xiao Man (I hope I didn't misspell his name...
Thanks for posting. A review of the new blu-ray edition of the film "Fist of Legend" will be coming soon.
