Ang Lee and Vin Diesel made a film about the war in Iraq


Famous director Ang Lee ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon") and action actor Vin Diesel talked about the joint project at the conference The Future of Cinema Conference in Las Vegas. The film is called "Billy Lynn's long walk during halftime of a football game” and is based on the 2012 novel of the same name.

The film tells the story of 19-year-old soldier Billy Lynn and his platoon, who had a hard time surviving the war in Iraq. However, the soldiers were captured on handheld news cameras during the war and are now being touted as true American heroes, sent on promotional tours across the country. The tour would culminate at halftime of a football game on Thanksgiving Day, after which the fighters would be sent back to war.

In addition to Diesel, the film featured famous actors: Kristen Stewart, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker, Garrett Hedlund, Ben Platt and others.
