Jackie expressed his admiration for the dedication and commitment with which staff work towards justice, saying that "They're really cool guys." He also mentioned that he had played Interpol agents and Hong Kong police officers, but never mainland police officers, and that day he was preparing for his new role.
Ding Sheng, filming a new film with Jackie, noted that they visited canteens, dormitories, offices, interrogation rooms and polygraph rooms, a shooting range and a gym.
