The time has come for a large selection of short films, which we have been extremely unable to keep up with lately. But this does not mean that we have nothing to show you in the niche of fan and more commercial short films.
We start with an extremely interesting CGI project by the director and screenwriter Kevin Margot, who had previously worked with graphics in the victorious cartoon "Landing" (2011)
Margot's new film is called "Constructor" (Construct) and the director has been preparing it since 2014. Finally, the CGI short film was able to appear in the public domain.
The science fiction film presented cyborgs of the future with human emotions. One of them, named Aiden, witnesses illegal activity and is now forced to defend his life and the lives of his loved ones.
Paul
Let's continue our selection of works by a well-known filmmaker of independent action films Brian Sloyer, who pleased fans of his work with several short films, where, as always, Brian was the director, screenwriter and choreographer.
In the first of them called "Peter" (Paul) Layer turned to... biblical history.
The following took part in the film: Jay Kwon, Jerry Quill, Vonzel Carter and Sloyer himself.
Fingerprint
Sloyer's next film, this time about revenge and repentance, is called "Handprint" (Fingerprint).
In a mortal fight in this film they came together Joseph V. Oresti and himself Brian Sloyer.
Color Me Red
Another Sloyer film has the title "For me the color is red" (Colour Me Red) is about a man who attempts suicide in order to contact someone important on the other side.
Besides Sloyer and Jay Kwon, playing the main roles, starred in the short film: Jerry Quill, Robert Dill и Dennis Ruel.
Sword of the Dead
Let's move away from old Sloyer and turn our attention to another independent filmmaker - Stephen Vitali, who directed a short film in which he combined samurai cinema with a zombie movie.
It’s interesting what the Koreans seem to have done in the upcoming feature film "Breakthrough".
Vitali's film is called "Sword of the Dead" (Sword of the Dead) and played the main role in it Masami Kosaka ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2", "The Man from Reno").
Afro Samurai Vexed
The director also spoke on the topic of Japan and samurai Ashley Beck, making a short film about the confrontation with the villainous ninjas of Afro Samurai, known from the comic book series and several cartoon adaptations.
Played the main role in the film Anton Simpson-Theede. The sketch turned out to be high quality and funny.
PvP
“Bragged off” with a funny sketch at an independent film festival Toronto After Dark Film Festival director Sam KJ.
In his short film entitled PvP starred Yoshi Sudarso ("Buffalo Boys") and Alvin Singh (“Ninja of the Apocalypse”), who sort things out with each other through an old slot machine.
Yokosuka Blues - A Shenmue Story
Let’s finish today’s selection of short films with the work of a creative studio Rising Tiger Films and director Leroy Nguyen, which may be familiar to visitors to our site as an independent action movie "Black Scar Blues".
The guys' new movie is called Yokosuka Blues - A Shenmue Story, and is based, as you might guess from the title, on the cult computer game about the yakuza Shenmue.
Starring in the film: Leroy Nguyen, Ron Suriopas, Joseph Le and others.
In general, if you are a fan of the game from Sega, then this fan film is exclusively for you.

I looked at everything. I really only liked “Construct”. Brian Sloyer's short films don't make you disgusted, but they don't make you want to watch them again. "Afro Samurai Vexed" is also funny. All.
