Is the action movie The Raid overly violent?

At the end of February, in one of the articles of the famous British publication The Times a certain film critic made a demand “prohibit the display of this unhealthy abomination”, referring to Indonesian action film "Raid" (The Raid). He was dissatisfied with the huge number of stab/cut wounds inflicted and assured that before the show "Raid" must “publicly notify viewers of this”. Although he liked the film stylistically, he was bothered by the fact that, “essentially, in the film the scenes with the rubber band are presented in too beautiful a light”, and gave examples of stabbings taken from UK crime statistics, naming the contents of the film “irresponsible”.

What do you think about this?

In the meantime Evans tweeted that "Berandal" / Raid 2 Filming will begin in January 2013. He plans to reduce the level of violence in his 4th film (for those who don’t know: his first film was called “Footsteps”). It is also possible that before filming the 3rd part "Raid" he can take up some other project.

Scott Adkins watched Reid. Said it was the best action movie he'd seen since The Matrix. Posted a photo with Evans and Larnell.

    Good day everyone :-)

The film critic is looking in the wrong place.
I remember my childhood in a Soviet school in the 80s, where in principle we could not see anything “scarier” than “Pirates of the XNUMXth Century”. And what? Horrible horrors often happened during breaks and after school; the wealthy school public beat up the undesirables according to the “all on one” principle. And to punch someone in the face who clearly cannot fight back - it happened at every turn.
You should not replace work with society as a whole and with disadvantaged social strata with film bans. A violent movie can become a catalyst, a “trigger” for a specific crime only for an already established “scumbag.”

and show more cartoons so that they have good thoughts in their brains.

I haven’t seen the film yet, judging by the trailer, there doesn’t seem to be too much stabbing, and the times now are such that children mostly commit all sorts of crimes after they’ve played enough computer games, and they haven’t been interested in films for a long time.

yes, you are right about children, children are too cruel right now, and this is very bad, and it’s not even about games, but also about education, so that this doesn’t happen, you need to look after them, and teach them only positive things, and show more cartoons so that they have good thoughts in their brains.

Oh, I'm losing my mind! Tyoma Lebedev would pay those same thirty floors for such typography *lol*

Well, look on YouTube. Maybe you'll find something new, I didn't see it. In general, Merantau Ultimate Edition should be released soon. Just after the Raid, that’s it.

I see... SP MRTU TB is helping RJ GE with the promotion of FM RD.

PS For those who do not understand: executive producer of “Merantau” Todd Brown is helping director Gareth Evans with the promotion of the film “The Raid”. %)

Why “mandrill” then write Extended? Eh, I was so hoping to see some kind of director’s version of the battle, that’s usually what they write in such cases...

I didn't see anything new at all. Just official. clip from the film.

Extended clip from “Merantau”, kakbe. :)

Tell me what the difference is with the original, otherwise I’m at a loss without a video editor.

If a child has mental problems, even parents will not always help, only doctors. After all, many people play violent games, watch horror/action films and nothing, they don’t run to kill. Only in some cases, individual individuals.

Lindolion, I don’t know how it is in the West, but here (in Russia) we definitely don’t have this.
In general, the tendency to blame everything on video games, films, contact is annoying; in the end, it is primarily the fault of the parents.

It is the parents who are primarily to blame, I agree.

I would like to see the film to understand what this, excuse me, turkey didn’t like... Tell me what the release date is?

There's no need to talk about such crap, okay?

Open your eyes, I'm speaking facts. The 10th boys, having played enough of GTA, for example, take weapons, which in some states are freely used, and go shoot whoever they see. Or you don’t watch the news when they ask why you did this - “I played a computer game and wanted to repeat it on the street or at school.” I think the problem is not in games, but in families and upbringings, plus laws

It doesn’t bother them to mow down Russians and Asians in packs in rembas....

In some ways he is right, actually. I’m now looking for a company to watch this film - even action movie fans refuse to go to the cinema with me after watching the trailer. In general, it turned out to be very amateurish.

I would advise the author of that article to watch 3 parts of “Hostel” in a row. This is truly an “abomination”, just for sadists.
