April Newsletter from Scott Adkins

Recently it was announced that in “Universal Soldier 4” у Adkins will have the main role, and he will star with JCVD, Dolph Lundgren и Andrey Arlovsky. Scott shared with us his thoughts on his involvement in this fantastic project.

“I'm very, very happy! About my candidacy for the role I played Mike Pyle in the last part, there were actually some talks going on but it didn't work out and I was really upset when I saw the movie, I don't think anyone expected it to be that good, but personally I thought it was amazing! I was checking in at the airport, the employee saw on my form the inscription “Universal Soldier 4” and joked that after the second film he gave up and never watched the sequel! I asked him if he'd seen the third one, and of course he hadn't, but I really think it's the best of them all.”

“This is not a hackneyed phrase. Him (Universal Soldier 3) - how “Black Hawk Down” (Black Hawk Down) is in the fantasy action genre, it presents a situation that captivates the viewer, and the action contributes to this. I think that everyone who took part did a great job, and this is a testament to John [Hyams] as a director.”

“The script for the new part is very tight, and although I don’t want to reveal details, I’ll just say that it’s a cocktail of “Blade Runner” (Bladerunner) and "Apocalypse Now" (Apocalypse Now).”

"Choreography Larnella looks fantastic, and you can rest assured that we will take the action and combat to the next level! I can’t wait for everyone to see the film!”

Celpaso, what have you heard about Blood Hostage? Today I found information that it will begin filming in September in Israel.

I apologize for writing the same thing 4 times in a row =)))
It’s just that when I wrote, at first no comments were left, but today I came in and they were all here at once =) I don’t know why)
And there was no reason for the series, it was not difficult to find. But it’s difficult to find other series with him, but it’s quite possible

It's okay, I deleted the repetitions. Comments with links are subject to pre-moderation and do not appear immediately, keep in mind.

Thank you very much for the Holby series =)

wesker, no need to be clever. Mile High was found a long time ago, try to find Holby in 30 seconds =D

    Author's gravatar

Damn, I’m wondering who he played there, the only thing I found was episode 52 of season 8 with him on YouTube, called Moondance

    Author's gravatar

Damn, this is my band and there is no Holby (except for a couple of videos from the filming), there is Mile High. Damn...disappointed, but I was already hoping that I would find Holby =(

I didn’t get the series anywhere, I just joined the VKontakte group, they post a video with it there, here’s the link if anything
    http://vkontakte.ru/video?gid=3914526

Only in Holby City he has a minor role there, but in another series Mile High he plays almost the entire 2nd season, and there are episodes with him, though without translation, only English))

"You can watch Scott as an actor in the TV series Holby City"

Where can I get the series?

    "like Dartagnan by Boyarsky)))"

Boyarsky has a large number of good roles, just like “Stirlitz” Tikhonov, but Scott really doesn’t have anything special besides Undisputed, so I’m only glad that such roles appear in Weapon and US 4. And Undisputed 4 he will always have time to take it off

    Author's gravatar

Regarding Undisputed 4: it’s not bad that he has a key role, thanks to which everyone will recognize him, BUT I would not like to see Scott forever in this character, like Boyarsky’s “Dartagnan”)))

Regarding Unisol 4: who knows, maybe Scott with well-choreographed battles will take this film, although it doesn’t depend on us, we can only talk within the framework of this topic)

And so, yes, they won’t just put Scott on the big screen, but I really want to see him next to Statham or Jet Li (WHAT IS HE WORSE THAN THEM)) Or at least to have roles like Ray Park, and personally I’ll be just glad)) )

I don’t even know what is needed here: the fan base seems to be good....... but those who are not interested in martial arts in cinema are not known, it’s a shame)

You can look at Scott as an actor in the series Holby City, where he just plays without fighting. And I’m sure that if he gets the opportunity to play a character in some kind of comedy or an atypical genre for him, although not the main role, he will agree.

In general, it would be better if they didn’t make Unisol 4 but Undisputed 4! Well, obviously the film could have been cooler. Plus, if the budget standards are allocated (Unisol 3 had like 14 million), then the undeniable 4 with such a budget will simply be a MASTERPIECE)))))

    Jaidev,

"Scott is a great fighter, but a lousy actor"

It’s a matter of taste, but in my opinion he’s a normal actor, just a little inexperienced. In Hollywood there are much less talented actors who star in big films + in all sorts of blockbusters that collect a lot of money, in most cases there is no particularly cool acting to be seen.

“Besides, he stars in the same action films, with a focus on martial arts.”

He doesn't have much of a choice. Nobody will give him a role in an Oscar-winning drama, but they might give him a role in a big-budget action movie, and then you’ll notice and give him something normal to play.

“He needs to expand his viewership with a good script.”

All that remains is to find a good script, but while the search continues, we need to live on something.

“All these modern guys would come to Hong Kong, just like Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton, Jeffrey Falcom, and Gary Daniels came there in their time.”

And where are they now? Did any of them make it to the big cinema for leading roles? No, they were there and remained, if not worse, and they were not allowed to get into any big cinema (although I hope that Gary will still make it, fortunately he has improved his game lately. He has become more charismatic) Scott said, why did he leave Hong Kong...there is no growth among Europeans there. They will always play stereotypical and cliched villains who will be beaten by Asian protagonists. Although, according to him, he would love to play with Ja and Donny.

Scott is a great fighter, but a lousy actor! Moreover, he stars in the same action films, with a focus on martial arts. He needs to expand his viewership with a good script. In addition, it is high time to leave factories and landfills. They still won’t film anything better than CYBORG! That's the atmosphere there! And in the shots, and in the acting, and in the editing... and of course, in the sometimes terrifying music!
And Unisol 4 will be complete heresy. That's for sure!
All these modern guys would come to Hong Kong, just as Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton, Jeffrey Falcom, and Gary Daniels came there in their time. What a movie it was!
Although in the modern age of technology everything will be screwed up with cables and computer effects.
Oh, Tsui Hark, John Woo and Ringo Lam should come to their senses...

    How a child rejoices. =)

    Author's gravatar

Yes, I agree, SCOTT is the guarantor of a cool guy + Arlovsky is a funny guy. The main thing is that the plot doesn’t suck completely.

    Author's gravatar

Everything is logical - he praises where he wanted to act so as not to lose the role + the main role. On top of everything else, I’ll assume that 4 will outdo 3 already in terms of choreography, and I hope at least Jean and Dolph will act with a twinkle in their eyes and not as if they won’t be praised let go home)))

    Author's gravatar

Duck Scott is doing the right thing by praising him, but everyone still understands that this is SHIT.

    Author's gravatar

Unisol 3 is a quiet horror, and it looks very cheap.

    Author's gravatar

The first part is, one might say, a classic, but I liked the second because of the humor with which Goldberg was mocked in every possible way. :)

    Author's gravatar

Look how smart everyone was, what did they do in his place? They also praised it when asked. =)

Scott has 4 closed projects and 2 missed roles over the past 2 years, of course he will hold on to any film with his teeth, and even more so with the main role. And why spoil those people (and the collections of your future film) who helped you in difficult times? So you can end up completely without work.

Besides, why are his words an absolute lie? Yes, there was some embellishment, BUT in Unisol 3 there were really cool fights and a lot of action, and few doubt that Scott and Larnell can film awesome fights... also, few doubt. So anything is possible =)

PS Scott directly said that he was not happy with Shepherd and his game in Ninja.

    Author's gravatar

Well, Donnie Yen, for example, thinks that all his films of the 90s are crap and he hates them all.

    Author's gravatar

Yeah, everyone understands that this is a “so-so” movie. But he calls it amazing.

    Author's gravatar

At least once, someone would honestly admit that the film he’s starring in is shit, and he’s only in it for the money. :)
But no, everyone is praising it.
